I just got mine yesterday . It has good power . I only rode mine for a few min . But I was surprised how it rode . The only thing I see me doing is the suspension upgrade free flow exhaust DNA air filter and mabe a cam upgrade . 70 mph is my comfort zone, so the cam upgrade would be perfect . But that's it . Besides lighting . And I have a Harley background. I actually was a fan boy, lol . I was impressed with this bike . The only thing weird to me is the footing area . Not that it's the bike it's more me coming off of a Super Glide with forward controls. It's just muscle memory, really . But this dam bike rides well . I got the same paint . And hell yeah, those ammo cans make this bike pop . Peace ✌️
Every man on earth has to watch this
🤣
I just bought a 2022 classic 350 and everyone said i was going to want more power, that it won't be practical at 70 mph. Thankfully it is not a necessity, only for fun and i love it. It is so much fun, that is all that matters.
I rode the Himalayan around all day today and had a blast. It’s my go to bike for under 60mph. I love my Pan America, but sometimes it’s more fun to just thump around town and not worry what anyone thinks.
Amen! Love mine and have had all the others, no going back.
👍🏼
I am trading my lowrider ST for the 2024 PA i hope its reliable
I hope, H. and Y. and K. and S, are paying attention.
Do you still have the bike now?
I do, but I have other bikes so it definitely gets neglected.
@@MandolinMouse Thanks for replying! I wish we had more of these little one cylinder touring focused bikes. I actually just did a tour with my 200cc dualsport this morning, 175 miles. I really wish I had wind protection for it!
They’re hard to beat on backroads. The RX4 is a good little machine, I have a Himalayan also. Cool little thumpers.
@@MandolinMouse What speed would you say the RX4 could cruise at if you wouldn't mind me asking?
@domenik8339 It’s comfortable at 70, but I wouldn’t want to do it all day. It’s comfortable enough on the interstate. I’ve had it faster of course but it doesn’t love it.
I have a ‘22 PAS. Amazing bike. I bought it in September of ‘22 so last year was my first full year of riding, I went through a set of tires if that says anything. I took it out with a few buddies last year and, sure it’s a big bike, but as long as you send it the bike will respond by doing whatever you want. By the end of our trip all of my buddies were impressed by the bike, because they know it makes me look like a better rider than I am! I just added some risers, the heat deflectors that came on the ‘23, a quick shifter and some knobby tires! Stoked to give her some stories to tell this year!
I’d waited 3 long years for this bike to hit the USA.. Got a ‘19 BS4 (Sleet) and have 26K (miles) on it. Also got a ‘21 V-Strom XT ADV.. but also find myself grabbing the Himi’s keys most often. Sadly, this bike is history, ‘replaced’ by something I’d definitely pass.. But all the more reason to keep my Himalayan up & running!
I once fell off a bike at 15 mph dressed like you, it feckin hurt a lot. I sold a bmw gs1200 and the guy rode 300 miles home in shorts and a hoodie! It is personal choice, but I need all ten fingers to play my guitar ;)
Great job, do you share tabs?
Thanks! I just play by ear so it’s a miracle if I know what key I’m in most of the time.. let alone how to pass that info on haha
Nice dude!

Good video, I’m currently on my way to pick up my Pan America while listening to your video!!
Awesome, enjoy! Still loving mine.
Bought my 21 new in June of 21 and have loved every moment of it! I ride it like a sport bike, with some light off road. It is a wheelie monster once you figure out the modes.
I had a PA for two years. It was my 7th HD. Tried my best to like it but ended up hating it and I'm so happy to have washed my hands of it.
I e ridden the PA a few times. I love the bike for the most part. I too have issues with leaving the traditional air cooled vtwin. I own a TC Street Glide and with the upgraded suspension it’s great for all day rides, but I’m sure the PA is much better still. I hope you enjoy it and hopefully we see a 6 month review from you.
You are a safe rider. You are not that fast, but still away from that trailer. Good deal, boss.
I'll bet it does feels sweet, I can only hope and dream, I'm seeing a lot videos having a lot of good praise, you folks need to look up the video, Laguna raceway park in southern California, I think you'll find it
Love the honesty dude! Just sold my RGS and am going to go with the PAS as soon as I see what the ‘24’s are like. I do have some of the same hesitation though. But…like you, I think this bike will be better for all my biking desires.
Great video and your excitement over the new bike really shows. I’m looking for a similar type motorcycle as well and the smaller adventure bikes are fun but just not really doing it for me. I’m test riding the BMW F750 GS next weekend and the Pan America soon. I love my Harley-Davidson Heritage but can’t wait to try these new ones out. Congratulations on the new bike and ride it like you stole it! New subscriber here and look forward to seeing more videos.
Congradulations on the new ride. I love my 22 Pan America Special. I've done some videos on upgades if you wanna check those out. Ride safe!
I just got the same bike and I love it.
For everyone: I bought the carbon fiber "look" street Canon slip on from Pazoma. It was $399 and sounds aggressive and good. I am too cheap for SE or the other expensive slip ons
Have you programmed the custom ride tune yet? I never run in Road or sport mode now
Honestly, not yet. Getting 1st service this week and then I’m going to mess with it.
Great vid.
Congratulations man! Sorry about you trading in your ride, but like they say,you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs. I'm really happy for you! Use it for what it is intended for. Go and get lost somewhere and have an adventure!
Got same 👍 love it
Great video. I'm thinking about getting one. This is Larry from Yorktown Va. Just subscribed to your channel.
i traded my 22 lowrider s for a 22 pan america....it was the right choice for sure, the seating position and ergo's are where its at for me anyway lol and i'm only 5'7....
I’m pretty happy so far. I may get the 2” up- 1” back risers at some point. But it’s plenty comfy for now.
@@MandolinMouse i got the A1 risers on mine, made a good difference
how you liking the pan am? i have a 21 ultra and for some reason im kinda wanting to trade it in for a pan america to be different but maybe the 2 up riding wont work with it good like the ultra baggers
So far, so good. I really don’t notice I have a passenger until it’s time to stop. I have the top box, so she has a decent backrest.
I recently had the chance to demo ride a 2023 pan am and was quite surprised on the power. It's damn quick and Ive ridden crotch rockets in the past. After riding the pan am now my non stock indian chieftain feels slow lol.
I hate mine … the hopping when it’s slowing down or coming off of 41 miles an hour with the clutch in and the bounce in the front is annoying
I’ve never noticed mine doing that, but now you know I have to try it out.
@@MandolinMouse it’s been to Harley 5×. Oh yeah, this is how they all run. The front wheel was out of balance so they fix that, but the hop starts at 41 all the way to 28. It’s pretty bad.
I bought one, and kept my 18 Road-Glide Ultra, but was amazed at the Pan Am.., I have I have almost 1000 miles on my PA in 2 weeks, 600 miles I checked the chain, was 4" in the deflection supposed to be around 2", chain stretch. Great video 👍
That’s a good reminder to check the chain. I have a little over 700 miles on it so far.
@MandolinMouse I currently have 17,800 On my 22 PAS chain has about 3/4 " if adjustment remaining. Not bad for a liter plus bike. Should make 20,000 miles. The initial stretch is the largest even with drives belts.
At 60 mph, you should be in fifth gear at the highest. The Pan America, like many bikes of its kind, love anything over 4000 RPM.
It's got plenty of power and torque, compared with the LR, you're just riding it in the wrong mode. Set up a Custom mode, start with the Sport Mode mapping and change the suspension back to Normal for a more comfie setting. If that's not enough, then also change throttle response to 'Max'.
Absolutely. More torque and responsiveness than any normal twin that's not built
Nice video. I brought a 2022 Pan Am Special (green army paint) in March 2023, I think it is pretty cool, I ride almost everyday. It does have some problems, the right hand raidiator hose is too close to the front exhaust header, gets burnt, I shortened the hose by 1/4 inch, just cut it off and slid forward, and I rapped the headers to better manage the heat from them. The battery keeps not wanting to start the bike after 1 day not running, when it is cold. I have modified a few things. 1 - Noticed the front forks are 15mm up, so I pushed them to be flush, lifting the front end 15mm or 9/16 inch, makes the sidestand easier to use, increases ground clearance and doesn't affect handling. 2 - Fitted new footpegs, ones that are longer, wider and 20mm or 3/4 inch lower. 3 - New Sargent seats. 4 - Low tinted screen, with a small extension, seriously better than the high screen, with no buffetting around the helmet at all. 5 - Pazoma top box and rack. 6 - Barkbusters. I really like the bike. I have a hotted up 1988 Lowrider with a sidecar, which I've had for 34 years, modified motor and suspension. I tend to keep bike for a long time.
I am 65 in good shape but this spring I traded a CVO Limited 2022 Road Glide for a Pan America. We put 10K on that CVO before we traded it in. This PA is a phenomenal bike it’s fast it’s nimble and it’s comfortable. It gets great fuel economy and rides two up without any problem. It’s versatile you hit road construction with loose gravel (marbles) don’t panic just ride through it. I think Harley hit it out of the park with the PA and absolutely love ours 5k on it this summer already. No problems no issues just ride it. I still have my V-Rod Muscle which I think is Harleys best motor ever. But this is certainly in the running……it’s every bit as much a Harley as any bike branded Harley….
Amen!! that Porche motor was by the best motor ever produced... but because it wasent a single pin pos that kills itself with vibrations and old design.. it was never accepted.. such a shame.
@LUKE-lq1gw I agree. I had always hoped that Harley would have given us a V Rod powered sport tourer back then. I would have been first in line for one. That said thankfully they make the Pan Am I absolutely love it!!!!
@@paulwojnar2291 the plastic cam chain tensioners and fuel pump life have me a bit worried. But other than that. I think this motor finally helps HD break into other markets
I havee to agree. I have had many cvos , fat boys dynas choppers etc. This by far is the best bike all around i have ever owned.I just got a 22 (brand new green army enthusist) its awesome.
There's a hill stop assist, that comes in handy, when stopped upward on a hill. When stopped, just squeeze the hand brake a couple of seconds, then release, and you'll find that you won't roll backward. Enjoy, I love my 2022 PAS.
Congrats on the new PAS. I got mine in July and im loving it so far. I had to upgrade the lighting (which is awful imho) w/ denali stuff.. and I put on the Screaming Eagle exhaust with the DB killer removed. Love how it sounds and feels.
i,d love to have a pa just waiting for the right deal. have a rg now but i really feel a need for some change. keep us posted i enjoyed you take on things
well, i had the same bike as your riding in this video, same color also....on my motorcycle trip last year, i ended up trading mine in, i got the GI model, it was the best thing i did lol. i love the thing...
Congrats! Just a note, you dont need to be in 6th very often unless on the interstate. Just a thought
You are definitely right. Learning to not treat it like a typical Harley V-Twin took a minute.
@@MandolinMouse Rev it out!
Yea that motor wakes up after 4000 and it wakes up 🚀
Ya . I'm never in 6. The manual actually says don't lug it before break in at all
Dude, this rocks in an acoustic sense. Love your interpretation….so cool!
Beautiful scenery! I love my 22 Himalayan as well. My only bike. It’s such a fun bike. I hope to ride up to your neck of the woods from Florida one day. Florida is so boing to ride. Great vid!
Congradulations on your 2023 PAS. I traded a 2019 Heritage Special that I loved for a 2022 PAS in May of 2022. 15 months and 17,000 miles later I dont regret it. Though I wish I could have kept the Heritage it was impossible. That being said the Pan Am is one of the best bikes I have ever owned. I commute, Sport Tour and occaisional carve corners with it. It is very comfortable on long hauls too. Good luck with yours.
That’s awesome, I haven’t heard too many people say they regretted it! Oh and I’m definitely still trying to line the audio out also. The helmet lets in a lot of air and my mic isn’t great so it’s time for an upgrade. Thanks for watching!
I have owned SEVERAL bikes.... Hondas, Kawasaki, Suzuki... never once rode HD... always looked down at HD... Buddy got me to a demo ride... and I fell in love with the Pan am... and the HD dealer network. The network is UNMATCHED... the group and people can be toxic sometimes... but the bike is by far my favorite.
@LUKE-lq1gw Absolutely, some of the best dudes I know are HD guys and some of the worst people I’ve ever met are HD guys that think they’re on Sons of Anarchy, despite not being in a real motorcycle club.
@@MandolinMouse exactly man. Every Pan Am rider I've met in person is still a friend today. Awesome group of people.
@LUKE-lq1gw there are jerks in every crowd unfortunately. I only associate with unbiased avid riders who dont care what you ride just that you ride. The void between HD riders and everyone else has narrowed alot in my 52 years of riding. Unfortunately there are still people who think that the machine makes the man or woman and not just some HD riders..there is attitude in other ranks as well. I do not ride nor associate with those people. Ride what you like. Its what its all about. Peace brother.
Your audio needs some work.
Have had my Himalayan for two years and love it. Speed? I’ve had 75mph. Wife has Meteor 350 and these bikes are great for the country roads
